GRILLED SCARLET SHRIMP:PERFECT FOR SUMMER!

Estimated reading time: 1 minute(s)

Summer is here! This recipe for Grilled Scarlet Shrimp is an excellent way to enjoy the good weather and cook something outdoors. Besides being super easy to make, scarlet shrimp- and seafood in general- have so many health advantages that we can benefit from if we include them in our diet:

  • A good supply of proteins of high biological value
  • Contains more collagen than fish.
  • Very low-carb.
  • Provides monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, such as omega 3 and 6.

Don’t forget to add some fresh veggies to your dish when cooking seafood, that way you can really take advantage of the meal and load yourself with antioxidants. You don’t have to be a chef to make good salads, use the vegetables you have in your fridge and get creative. Try new things! This will prevent these vegetables from going to waste and ending up in the trash.

To give your salads a delicious twist you can use foods that perhaps were not intended to make salads but, I can assure you they will give a unique and delicious touch to any meal. Such is the case with our organic granola made from whole nuts, which will give your salads a crisp touch and by being nut-based they won’t affect your carbohydrate intake during the day.

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces scarlet shrimp
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 1/4 chives

Instructions

  1. Heat the grill to cook the scarlet shrimp.

  2. Wash the shrimp in cold water.

  3. Wash and dry the vegetables for your salad.

  4. Add a crunchy touch to your salad with some organic granola made with whole-nuts and/or make a salad dressing with a nut cream base.

  5. Season the shrimp with the sea salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Once the grill is hot, put the scarlet shrimp on the grill. You can put them directly on the grill since they have the shells. Just make sure the grill is at medium heat to avoid burning.

  7. Be careful here as ideally you want to cook them for 3-4 minutes on each side.

  8. Once ready, take the shrimp off the grill and place them nicely on a plate topping them off with a little olive oil and placing your salad around the shrimp or on the side. Voila, a healthy, beautiful, colorful summer meal!
