Donuts are a vice for many people, and if you happen to be one of them this recipe for donuts and almond cream is sure to win you over. They have many health benefits as they’re a good source of polyunsaturated fats and proteins. By containing more fats and proteins than carbohydrates these donuts leave us feeling fuller for longer, and help us to not overeat. And, with the addition of the almond cream, we get a nutritional bonus.

This donut with almond cream recipe is an excellent way to get a good charge of energy through just a small bite. They’re the perfect snack to have on those extra busy days where we just can’t spare a minute. Another great thing is that they’re easy to make so the kids will be begging to help.

Donuts with Almond Cream

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups peeled almonds
  • 2 cups vanilla-flavored oatmeal flour
  • 100 ml whole milk
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla flavored Vegan protein powder
  • 2 tbsp crunchy almond cream


  1. To start preparing your homemade donuts, preheat the oven to 180ºC. Take the eggs, and separate the whites from the yolk. Beat the egg whites until they form peaks.

  2. In a different bowl beat the egg yolk together with the vanilla, apple cider vinegar, milk (you can also use a plant-based one), and the almond cream until you get a well combined, uniform mixture.

  3. Grind the almonds with the mixer, and then mix them with our vanilla-flavored oatmeal flour, lemon zest, our vanilla-flavored vegan protein powder, coconut sugar, and baking powder.

  4. Then mix together all the wet and dry ingredients. Little by little adding in the egg whites mixture folding everything together until everything is completely blended together.

  5. Once you have everything combined well, place the mixture into the individual molds and let bake for 15-20 min, or until you can stick a toothpick in it, and it comes out dry.

  6. Take it out of the oven and let it sit before removing the donuts from the molds. Lastly, add on whatever toppings you want.
