Bananas are one of my favorite fruits to have as a mid-afternoon snack for 4 reasons:
- Great source of energy so you can go about the rest of your day.
- They’re very filling and helps you avoid over-snacking.
- They’re rich in tryptophan, which means if you eat them in the middle of the day it will help you rest better at night.
- A very alkaline food, which makes them very easy to digest and they don’t cause heartburn.

Banana Bites- the perfect snack to help stabilize glucose levels.
One of the best strategies for keeping the glycemic index stable is to combine fruit with a nut spread. The fat and protein in a nut spread are absorbed slowly when they are stuck to the carbohydrates in a banana, which favors digestion and slow glucose absorption.
