As Christmas is approaching and desserts become part of the main attraction doesn’t mean that we have to go off course when it comes to our healthy diet. That’s why I’ve brought you this simple, tasty Sugar-Free Apple Pie Recipe suitable for those people with Celiacs Disease. It’s something fun to make with the whole family and has other advantages as well:

The flavor of the Apple Pie is to die for, you won’t believe that it’s made of just fruit, oats and hazelnuts and not a grain of refined sugar! In addition to all that the organic hazelnut cream coating will give your Apple pie some necessary monosaturated fats.
An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away
We all know that popular saying! And, in winter as we face an array of changes we must be prepared to combat them with health and vitality. Which is why we also include Green Apples as the main ingredient in this recipe. Besides being a seasonal fruit, it has a number of properties and health benefits for our bodies. Its fiber content makes us feel full and is good for our cardiovascular health while also containing other vitamins and minerals.
Gluten & Sugar-Free Apple Pie
- 125 gr grated green apple
- 125 gr Natural Athlete’s Vanilla Oat Flour
- 100 gr crushed hazelnuts
- 2 eggs
- 15 gr baking powder
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 25 gr Nutmeg
- 1 tbsp salt
- 50 gr Butter
- 75 ml Whole Milk
- Natural Athlete’s Organic Hazelnut Cream
Take the hazelnuts and place them in a blender/food processor and mix until you get a flour-like texture.
Wash your green apple and proceed to grate it (don’t do this ahead of time as it will turn brown)
Microwave the butter for a few seconds to make it easier to work with then beat it together with the eggs until you get a uniform mixture.
In a different bowl add the dry ingredients together: Hazelnut Flour, Vanilla Oat Flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix everything together until all ingredients are combined.
Slowly mix in the first bowl with the butter and eggs to the combined dry ingredients. Next add in the grated apple and milk and keep beating until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
Pour this mixture into a non-stick pan or lightly greased pan with some butter or olive oil.
Bake the Apple pie for 20 minutes at 180ºC.
For a special touch, before your pie cools, garnish it with fresh apple slices and put it back into the oven to carmelize!
Once it turns a beautiful golden color, top your pie with hazelnut cream (or your favorite nut cream) and enjoy!
