Avocado Beyond Guacamole and Salads

Avocado, particularly thanks to its fatty texture, can be used in an endless amount of recipes. For breakfasts paired with eggs, or in desserts mixed with fruits and chocolate, or as it’s own cream …

Avocado Chocolate Cake

This Cake is gluten free made with dates, nut cream, and an avocado chocolate mousse and it’s delicious. It has many benefits since it combines the fats and proteins from the dried fruits and avocado, with the intense flavor and antioxidants of the pure cocoa powder. If you’re inspired to make this, you will learn two recipes in one, because the chocolate and avocado mousse that is poured on top can be eaten alone with a spoon with some red fruits sprinkled on top.

Don’t worry if you don’t have both almond and coconut flour on hand, if you use only one of them it’s just as scrumptious.

This idea of mixing chocolate and avocado together, can motivate you to want to try other recipes like muffins or brownies. Don’t forget to use pure cacao, and unrefined flour If you include some nuts like walnuts or a touch of almond or hazelnut cream on top, you will have a very complete and energetic recipe without the use of white sugar.

Perhaps in your family you can separate the ones who have a sweet tooth and the others who jump straight to salty. If you’re the latter, we suggest this easy and healthy recipe. You’ll start the day off with loads of energy. It’s as simple as making an avocado-stuffed French omelette, and you can combine it with some asparagus or a few slices of a good Spanish Serrano Ham. If you’re a vegetarian, the avocado omelette is perfect for you because it gives you the fats you need without having to eat meat or fish. And, if you’re just not in the mood to make the omelette, go for the easiest option of all: scrambled eggs and avocado. You just have to put everything in the pan.

Avocado as the star ingredient for Lunch and Dinner

Are you a fan of cold creams/soups like salmorejo or gazpacho? This Salmorejo is made with avocado, tomato, garlic and lemon. To make it even more complete, it also is great with a little cucumber, or zucchini. It’s very easy to get the right texture thanks to the thickness of the avocado, and the flavor is smoother, than a traditional salmorejo as you notice the garlic and tomato less. In the spring or summer, whenever it starts to get hot we always want something lighter to eat, this makes for an easy choice! However, if you still feel like a warmer dish, pair it with a piece of meat or fish, try this Avocado and Coconut Cream.

The only trick you have to think about to make this Shrimp and Avocado Tartar is to find a wide-brimmed glass that is the desired shape of the tartar you want to make. The rest is quite simple! You just have to cut everything into small pieces and then mix the avocado, tomato, zucchini, shrimp and some pomegranate grains. The combination of all these flavors will surprise you, what’s more is you will get all the benefits from the natural foods. A good splash of extra virgin olive oil with a touch of basil, and Voilà you’re done!

Drink your Avocado!

And for an explosive yummy snack an, avocado smoothie, with banana, cherries and almond milk. It’s perfect for kids as they will be lured in with the vibrant pink color of the smoothie, this is especially true for kids who are usually hesitant to eat fruit by itself. And,by freezing the banana and avocado, you can store them for longer and make sure they don’t start to over ripen. The sweetness of the almond, oat or coconut milk gives the smoothie a special added touch.
