Gluten and Sugar-Free Twix-Style Bars

Ingredients

For the cookie

  • 70 gr Almond Flour
  • 70 gr Vanilla Oatmeal powder
  • 80 gr Honey
  • 80 ml Coconut Oil

For the caramel

  • 120 gr Hazelnut Cream
  • 100 gr Honey
  • 80 ml Coconut Oil
  • 7 dates
  • 2 tbsp of milk (optional)
  • 200 gr Dark Chocolate 90% cacao (for the final topping)

Instructions

  1. The first step in making these gluten and sugar-free Twix-style bars is to line a rectangular baking sheet with wax paper (this will make it easier to remove from the sheet)

  2. Preheat the oven to 180º.

  3. In a bowl mix together, the almond flour, oat flour, honey, coconut oil until everything is combined well and makes a ball of dough.

  4. Spread out the dough onto the sheet with the help of a spoon and be sure to distribute it as evenly as possible.

  5. Bake it in the oven at 180º for 9 minutes.

Time for the filling!

  1. Mix together the hazelnut cream, honey, coconut oil, and dates. Blend everything until you get a uniform mixture.

  2. If the mixture seems a little too compact you can add two tablespoons of milk to dilute it.

  3. When the filling is ready after you have removed and cooled the base cookie, spread the filling on top of the base making sure to spread it out evenly.

  4. To finish, melt the chocolate and drizzle it on top of the base of the cookie and filling. Then pop it in the freezer for 2 hours.

Notes

Chef’s trick- Sprinkle some salt flakes on top for an added touch and let yourself be transported by the sweet and salty flavors of this tasty snack!
