Beef with chocolate? Nothing is better than joining two mouth-watering ingredients together. The process of reduction between the red wine and the natural cacao, which is free from refined sugars, creates a moderately sweet flavored sauce with a slightly bitter touch thanks to the wine. Your palate will definitely be thanking you! The beef is full of natural proteins and B vitamins, combine that with the wine and chocolate and you’re left with a perfect antioxidant mix that is sure to keep your cells young.  

Chef’s trick, Find the purest, natural cacao possible, typical industrial cacao is usually full of added sugars, which makes it unhealthy and won’t pair well with this recipe.

Beef with Red Wine and Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 4 thick beef fillets 
  • 1 cup of red wine
  • 1/2 cup of beef broth 
  • 1/4 cup Natural Cacao Powder  
  • 2 tbsps of Extra virgin olive oil  
  • 2 tbsps of butter
  • Rosemary to taste 
  • A pinch of Himalayan Salt
  • Black pepper 

Instructions

  1. To start preparing your beef in red wine with chocolate, start with the sauce. Put the butter, rosemary, broth and cocoa in a pan.

  2. Cook everything over medium heat until they start to blend together and the sauce forms.

  3. Pour in the wine, stir, and let the sauce simmer. Season your beef fillets with salt and pepper. Sear the beef in a pan with the olive oil. Be careful, as you want the beef to be juicy not dry.

  4. Once the fillets are done, carefully remove them from the pan, draining as much oil as possible.

  5. Generously coat the fillets with your prepared red wine, chocolate sauce and serve!
