If there is something I like to make, especially in the summer, it’s smoothies. I think they are one of the best ways to eat your fruit and veggies and there are so many combos to choose from during any given season.
A while ago I made a banana and cacao smoothie, but this time I decided to modify the original and change up some of the ingredients, like by adding in peanut butter. If you don’t already know, I love adding this ingredient in wherever I can. Not only as the side ingredient in sweet dishes but also as the main ingredient like in this recipe for peanut butter ice cream. Also it’s also an innovative addition to salty dishes like grilled chicken with a peanut butter based sweet sauce.
This smoothie is by far one of my favorites. The nutritional benefits are really just a plus! The banana and peanut butter both give us the energy we need to get through the day and cacao is one of the best antioxidants out there. This smoothie combo is a 10/10!
Banana, Cacao and Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp of powdered cacao
- 1/4 cup of peanut butter
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- 1 piece of ginger
Put the banana, cacao, and peanut butter together in the blender. Blend everything until all the ingredients are combined well.
Afterwards, add in the black pepper, ginger and blend everything again.
That’s it! Pour it into a serving glass and enjoy!
As you can see you don’t need a lot of ingredients to make a delicious smoothie. Smoothies are great any time of day but they are especially nice to refresh yourself on a hot summer day.
